Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 November 2026
Starfy is made by Appleo. This policy explains what the app does with your information. Starfy has no accounts: we do not ask for your email or phone number to use it.
What stays on your device
- Your profile answers, your rooms and fans, coins and lives are stored on your iPhone and synced through your own iCloud account. Apple stores that data; we cannot read it.
- Your camera picture is shown on screen only. It is never uploaded.
- Recordings you make are saved on your device and shared only when you choose to.
- Photos you pick for fans or your profile stay on your device and in your iCloud.
Speech
While you are live, Starfy turns what you say into text with Apple's speech recognition, on your device where your iPhone supports it. Audio is not sent to us.
AI comments
To write the audience's comments, Starfy sends a short request to our server (Google Firebase), which passes it to OpenAI. A request contains the text of what you said, the stage name, username, pronouns and age range you entered, the topics and goals from your profile, the fans' personalities, and short notes the fans keep about earlier lives. It does not contain your camera picture, your audio, your Apple ID or your contacts.
We do not store these requests. OpenAI processes them to return comments and, under its API terms, may keep them for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring; it does not use them to train its models. If AI is unavailable, comments are written on your device instead.
Analytics and crash reports
We use Google Firebase Analytics to count how the app is used (for example, that a live started or a screen was opened) and Firebase Crashlytics to receive crash reports. These use an app-instance identifier, not your identity.
Ads
Free users can watch a rewarded ad from Google AdMob to unlock a live. We request non-personalised ads only and do not track you across apps, so Starfy never shows the tracking prompt.
Purchases
Payments are handled by Apple. We use RevenueCat to check what you bought; it receives your App Store receipt and a random identifier. We never see your payment details.
Children
Starfy is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Deleting your data
Delete the app to remove what is on your device. To remove the synced copy, go to iPhone Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Starfy. Because we hold no account for you, there is nothing else for us to delete; if you have a question, write to CONTACT_EMAIL.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
